Mostly A's: Financial Barrier

" I don't have the money."

I hear you. And I understand.

When I started LexxiKhan Presents, this industry looked nothing like it does today. There were no agencies, no accessible resources, no communities like this one. I had a burning passion to tell stories, but I didn't have money to invest in learning the publishing process, let alone actually publishing a book.

So I borrowed books from the library. I used free Wi-Fi from local businesses to research. I made mistakes—lots of them. I collected cease and desist letters in the process because I didn't know what I was doing. I was forced into positions where I had to increase my investment just to stay in the game and get to where I am today. That's why LexxiKhan Presents exists.

We know what it's like to have a story burning inside of you and no money to bring it to life. We understand how that can be detrimental to your momentum, how it can steal your confidence, how it can make you feel like this dream isn't meant for you.

But here's the truth: We value your membership, and we're going to put a push and a demand on you in the process.

In the next assessment you're about to take, we're going to ask you about your budget. And I need you to dig deep. I need you to be honest—not just with us, but with yourself.

If I told you that whatever you invest, you have the opportunity to make back—if not more—what would that investment amount be?

I can't guarantee anything (because I'm not a fortune teller), but I can tell you this: I've seen authors in this space generate six-figure returns on their book projects. Publishing has incredibly low overhead. And as long as you're doing your part to get your message out there, the sales will come.

Here's what we're NOT going to do:

We're not going to coddle you. We're not going to let you use money as an excuse forever. Because you're only going to get out what you put in. And if you don't do it right the first time, you'll have to pay even bigger the next go-round.

Here's what we ARE going to do:

Inside the Author's Lounge, you have access to everything you need to learn how to publish a book for free. The resources are here. The knowledge is here. The community is here.

But we're still going to push you. Because I wouldn't be a good coach—and we wouldn't be a good fit for you—if we didn't act in your best interest. And your best interest is pushing past this barrier.

Your Next Steps:

  1. Complete the Author Journey Assessment (linked below)

  2. Be honest about your budget

  3. Start thinking about what you're willing to invest if you knew it would come back

You're here. You're in the room. Now let's get you moving.

Mostly B's: Time Barrier

" I don't have the time."

I get it. Time feels impossible.

When I started this journey, I was a single mom working multiple jobs. I was going to the library to figure out the publishing process. I was writing. I was researching publishing houses I wanted to work with. I was making sure my synopsis met their standards and my submissions were formatted correctly.

And I still didn't have time.

But here's what I learned: It's not a lack of time. It's a lack of intentionality.

If time is your biggest restraint, my goal is to help you identify at least one hour every single day where you can put pen to paper, fingers to keyboard, or voice to notes app.

Here's how I did it (and how you can too):

  • I wrote my books on my breaks at work

  • I wrote between calls at work

  • I used what should have been my rest time at night to write

  • Thanks to voice notes and AI, I now use my commute to jot down thoughts, have them transcribed, and then clean them up when I get to my computer

Time isn't the issue. Prioritization is.

And listen—I'm not here to shame you. I'm here to challenge you. Because in the next assessment, we're going to ask you a hard question:

What are you willing to give up in order to make sure you're successful?

Are you willing to give up 30 minutes of scrolling? One episode of that show you're binging? Sleeping in on Saturday? Because that's what it takes.

If you're serious about this book, you're going to have to create the time. And I'm going to help you figure out where that time exists—because it does.

Here's the reality:

You're in the Author's Lounge now. That means you have access to:

  • Weekly webinars (multiple time slots to fit YOUR schedule)

  • Writer's Block sessions (body doubling so you're not doing this alone)

  • A community of people who are also juggling life and still getting it done

You don't have to do this alone. But you do have to show up.

Your Next Steps:

  1. Complete the Author Journey Assessment (linked below)

  2. Identify ONE hour per day you can dedicate to your book

  3. Show up to a Writer's Block session this week

Time is going to pass whether you write or not. The question is: what are you going to have to show for it?

Mostly C's: Knowledge Barrier

" I don't have the knowledge."

Good news: You just solved your biggest problem.

The information is here. You're in the Author's Lounge. The knowledge you've been searching for? It's at your fingertips now.

So this is no longer your barrier. What you need to do now is use what's available to you.

Here's how:

1. Attend Writer's Block Sessions
These aren't just co-working times. We always leave space at the end for questions. Bring them. Ask them. Get them answered.

2. Show up to the weekly webinars
We cover different topics every week, specifically designed to address the gaps in your knowledge. These aren't recorded and forgotten—they're live, interactive, and built for YOU.

3. Use the contact information provided in the Author's Lounge
If you have a question, ask it. Don't sit in confusion. Don't let "not knowing" stop you anymore. We're here to answer.

Here's the truth about knowledge:

The information exists. It's accessible. What separates published authors from unpublished authors isn't who knows more—it's who asks more questions and takes action on the answers.

You have no barriers anymore. You've solved your main problem by being here.

In the next assessment, we're going to ask you where you are in your publishing journey and what specific knowledge gaps still exist. Be honest. Because once we know what you don't know, we can fill those gaps immediately.

Your Next Steps:

  1. Complete the Author Journey Assessment (linked below)

  2. Attend your first webinar or Writer's Block session THIS WEEK

  3. Write down your top 3 questions and ask them

The knowledge is here. Now it's up to you to take it.

Mostly E's: Fear Itself

" I'm afraid."

Fear is normal. I deal with it even now, 13 years later in this game.

Fear is your brain doing its job—protecting you from the unknown. It's not trying to sabotage you. It's trying to keep you safe. But here's what you need to know: You're built for what's coming next.

If fear itself is your main issue, you're exactly who we created the Author's Lounge for. Because fear usually means one of two things:

1. You're a combination of all the other fears.
A little scared of money. A little scared of time. A little unsure of the knowledge. A little worried about resources. All of it swirling together into one big overwhelming feeling that keeps you stuck.

OR

2. This is a confidence issue.

And if it's a confidence issue, I need you to hear me on this:

If you lack confidence in the gym, you get a trainer. If you lack confidence in publishing your book, you work with someone who's done it before. You're one of our key people.

We want to talk to you. We want to work with you one-on-one. Because that's how you're going to push through to the next level. Fear doesn't go away when you're ready. Fear goes away when you move anyway. And we're going to help you move.

In the next assessment, we're going to dig deep into where you are in your process, what's stopping you, and how we can create a plan that moves you forward despite the fear.

Here's what I need from you:

I need you to acknowledge the fear. Write it down. Say it out loud. "I am afraid of _______." Because I can't help you if you won't admit it to yourself.

And then I need you to trust the process.

Your Next Steps:

  1. Complete the Author Journey Assessment (linked below)

  2. Attend a webinar or Writer's Block session this week—just show up, even if you're scared

  3. Write down your fear. Own it. Then let's work through it together.

Fear isn't the enemy. Staying stuck is. You're here. You're in the room. Now let's get you moving.

Mostly D's: Resource Barrier

" I don't have the resources."

Let me stop you right there.

You're in the Author's Lounge. We have everything you're going to need:

  • Coaches

  • Illustrators

  • Editors

  • Marketers

  • PR professionals

  • A growing community of authors, creatives, and industry professionals

You have the resources now. You just have to use them.

Within this community, we're building something powerful. You don't know yet what possibilities are at your disposal because you haven't started asking. And that's the problem.

"You have not because you ask not."

I'm going to be annoying about this. I'm going to encourage you—push you, even—to start asking everybody you know to contribute to your resources.

The resources are here. But you have to open your mouth and ask for them.

Here's what I need you to understand:

If you think resources are the problem, you're looking at this wrong. Resources aren't just things you pay for. Resources are people, connections, knowledge, tools, time, energy. And all of those things are available to you right now inside this lounge.

But nobody's going to hand them to you. You have to advocate for yourself.

In the next assessment, we're going to dig into what specific resources you think you're missing. And I'm going to show you that most of them are already here—you just haven't tapped into them yet.

Your Next Steps:

  1. Complete the Author Journey Assessment (linked below)

  2. Introduce yourself in the community and share what you're working on

  3. Ask for ONE thing you need this week—just one

Resources aren't the barrier. Your willingness to ask is.
