Our Beginning
From a Blog to a Publishing Powerhouse
Before the company. Before the contracts. Before the bestsellers. There was just a blog and a woman who refused to play small.
In 2012, ChasingABabyAndADream.com launched without a marketing budget, brand strategy, or industry backing. What it had instead was honesty and a tagline that said exactly what it needed to: “Life, love, and career advice from the expert in what not to do.”
That level of authenticity helped the blog find its people early. And not long after, so did the manuscript. Charge It to the Game was a story the industry didn’t know what to do with — an Afro-Latina lead, a complicated identity arc, and a plot that didn’t follow the rules. Publishers passed. Then circled back with edits. Then circled back with bigger checks. The answer was still no. Because some stories aren’t meant to be filtered and some people don't have a price tag on their integrity.
LexxiKhan Presents Publishing was founded in 2014 to do what traditional publishing wouldn’t: protect the story, honor the author, and give truth a seat at the table. What started with one voice turned into a company built for the storytellers who are done asking for permission.
This wasn’t built to impress the industry. It was built to disrupt it.

We’re also gearing up for our official launch of The BookTrap, a print and digital platform built to amplify underrepresented writers on their own terms and not when the media decides they’re ready. We’re partnering with community leaders and organization for our community-led anthologies that pay survivors of domestic violence to share their truth and help us break the cycle of domestic violence.
