We're at it again – rebranding. For what I hope is the last time (or at least one of the last times), LexxiKhan Presents Publishing is shifting its direction. Over the years, I’ve learned that life is about seasons—there’s a time to be the underdog and a time to be the victor, a time of struggle and a time of abundance. It's just the natural flow of life. And if other brands can pivot with ease, why do I feel shame every time I have to pivot myself in business?

This time around, I’m fully embracing what I want my brand voice and legacy to be known for: authenticity.

When I first started my publishing company years ago as a single mom, I didn’t have much more than a vision and a drive to succeed. I walked to McDonald's to borrow their Wi-Fi because I didn’t have the gas to get there, let alone a stable internet connection. I was committed to telling the stories others were afraid to tell. Whether the subject was too raw or people believed there wasn’t an audience for the topic, I wanted LexxiKhan Presents Publishing to be a home for authentic, real voices.

Over the years, desperation to compete with charts and industry trends caused me to lose sight of that authenticity. I’ve rebranded several times in the past three years trying to “fit in.” But here we are again, and this time I’m rebranding with the intention of creating a foundation for LexxiKhan Presents Publishing that will last.

What’s New?

LexxiKhan Presents Publishing is still a publishing house, but instead of chasing after new publishing clients, our focus is shifting toward community building. Our goal is to empower writers by offering them access to all the publishing options, industry knowledge, and support they need through The Author’s Lounge.

The Author’s Lounge, available on LexxiKhanPresents.com, will provide writers with:

  • Weekly calls to keep them motivated.

  • Access to courses and learning materials to guide them through the publishing process.

  • Monthly marketing webinars to help them stand out in the industry.

  • Discounts on services, events, and more.

This allows us to offer more comprehensive support to writers while keeping the space open for those authentic, must-publish stories that align with our mission.

4 Must-Knows for a Strong Rebrand

Here’s what I’ve learned while making this shift and what I want to share with you about rebranding successfully:

1. Own Your Mess – Authentically

Most people allow fear, shame, or self-condemnation to keep them stuck in a life they hate. Don’t be that person. When rebranding, you need to strip everything down to the root and ask yourself tough questions:

  • Why is this story or service important?

  • What problem am I trying to solve?

Once you understand your vision and purpose, build your business back up from the seed. Take an honest look at yourself and your team. Where are the weak spots? Identify those now and fix them. It’s not about being perfect; it’s about being authentic.

2. Speak Your Mess – Authentically

I’ve learned that my ideal clients appreciate a little tough love. They’re the kind of people who are sick and tired of their own excuses. They’ve faced themselves in the mirror and are ready to do the work.

That’s why I only speak to them. I don’t care if my message rubs someone the wrong way because, honestly, I’m not talking to them. #ChargeItToTheGame.

In rebranding, it’s crucial to know who you’re speaking to. Craft your message to connect with your people, and don’t worry about the rest.

3. Do the Work – Authentically

If you want your rebrand to be successful, you need the right people on your team. Restructure your organization chart if you have to, but make sure everyone on board is aligned with your vision.

Success happens when everyone is committed to the plan, the game, and the goals. Anyone who isn’t fully invested needs to move on. #ChargeItToTheGame.

4. Rinse and Repeat

There’s no magic formula that guarantees success. If I’ve learned anything, it’s that you need to be ready to start over again at any moment. Go back to step one and re-evaluate where things went wrong:

  • Where did we fail to communicate the vision?

  • Where was our message unclear?

Flexibility is key. Don’t get too attached to one way of doing things. Sometimes, our egos get in the way, and we end up forcing things that don’t align with our true purpose. The best brands are authentic and open to change, creating a space where the right people can find what they need to succeed.

At LexxiKhan Presents Publishing, we’re committed to authenticity, and that’s the kind of people we want to work with moving forward.

Moral of the Story:

Rebranding is not about erasing the past; it’s about owning your journey and evolving with authenticity. There’s no shame in making a pivot when it aligns with your vision and values. At LexxiKhan Presents Publishing, we’ve learned that flexibility and honesty are the keys to building a legacy that lasts.

Now, we want to hear from you! Share your rebrand story, tag us @LexxiKhanPresents, and we’ll celebrate your transformation with our community. #NewPlanNewGame #ChargeItToTheGame
